Loveprint Story

So many people have asked me how I came up with the idea for Loveprint, so here is my story

Since 1994 I have been designing and creating jewelry. I started out metalsmithing which means I crafted all aspects of my piece by hand, there was no casting involved. Although I enjoyed soldering, hammering, sawing and polishing metal (silver and copper) it was not practical for me at this time. Metalsmithing requires a lot of tools, time and space and had none of these. My daughter was very young at the time so I was not able to spend a lot of time away from home.

I began looking for an aspect of jewelry design that I could easily and comfortably do at home. When I discovered the art of wax carving I was thrilled. With a few very portable tools and limited space I could sculpt my ideas in carving wax, cast them and even reproduce them. For nine years I attended wax carving classes and built my present day collection of CamilleCesari Jewelry.

In 2004 I began experimenting with soft jewelers wax and molding it with my hands. When I discovered that my fingerprint impression was easily transcribed onto the wax I decided to cast the wax  to see the quality of the print. The sterling silver casting produced a very clear fingerprint and voila, Loveprint was born.

What Loveprint is goes beyond that it is a fingerprint impression, it stands on it’s own as strong design, the essence of its attraction is its organic form. Loveprint is not machine engineered like other fingerprint jewelry. Other companies take your fingerprint impression in ink, photograph it and then a machine carves it. Loveprint, however, is taken in soft wax and then cast in a precious metal, truly your original sculpture.

Now I don’t claim that to have invented fingerprint jewelry (although I did not know that it existed at this time) but I do claim that no other company combines original jewelry design (my hand crafted necklaces, bracelets, rings and closures) with fingerprint jewelry.

But the Loveprint Story doesn’t end with my story. Over the last four years I have heard numerous accounts of the meaning and significance of Loveprint.

…for the grandmother who seldom sees her out-of-town grandchildren the five charm bracelet is priceless.

…for the daughter whose parents are elderly she plans on passing down their Loveprints to future generations.

…for the serviceman stationed in Iraq his wife’s and daughter’s Loveprint was ‘the best gift I have ever received from them.’
